Do you love opening a cold can of beer after a long, hard day? So do we! However, while these days it’s hard for many of us to imagine when our favorite beers weren’t available in cans, canned beer is a relatively new innovation. 

January 24th celebrates National Beer Can Appreciation Day – the day when beers were first sold in cans. It was only 87 years ago now that canned beers were first available in the United States. In 1935, a New Jersey brewery called Kruegers became the first to release beer in a can. Almost 30 years later, in 1962, canned beers become mainstream.
